Wrong Train
There is a Japanese proverb that says…
Get on the wrong train.
Get off on the first stop.
Each stop you keep missing cost you more and more money.
The thing is this isn’t just about trains.
Read that again.
Train Math Lessons
This can be pretty useful to think about throughtout life.
First, train math!
If you find yourself on the wrong train, it’s best to get off at the first stop to avoid getting further off course, duh.
Second, as far as life and business goes…
If you’re on the wrong train in your life, you should get off at the next nearest station and try something else. The longer you stay on the wrong train, the more expensive the return trip will be.
This also is a huge sunk cost fallacy.
Imagine: Choosing to finish a boring movie because you already paid for the ticket.
Wasting time, energy, life, and money because of a previous mistake or even random event will be just a huge L at the end of the day. Nothing good will come of it.
